Welcome to our little corner of the world!
bitty Bohemia is a woman-owned small business that designs thoughtful, sustainable products to simplify your life.
We're so happy you're here!
Being human is hard - really hard. You're juggling demands from all directions of your life, while constantly managing a necessary (but stressful) cycle of tasks. Those tasks include countless chores required to simply stay alive - like, oh say, eating.
So begins the multi-step process that eating at home involves. First, you craft a meal plan or shopping list to feed yourself (and possibly others) while trying to balance competing priorities like health, cost, taste, and cooking effort required. You want to enjoy your relationship with food, but it's easy to feel weighed down by the never-ending requirement of this chore. Then comes the actual shopping.
Oh, the grocery store... a magical land where analysis paralysis and social anxiety collide. You're suddenly in the maze, surrounded by a dizzying amount of categorized items while on a personal scavenger hunt with your self-inflicted list. You scurry around filling a cart with items from every corner of the store, just trying to finish the job as quickly and painlessly as possible.
And whether you're bagging on your own or being helped by an employee, you're now navigating another overwhelming step as your groceries are scanned and loaded chaotically on top of each other in a random assortment of low quality bags (maybe even single-use plastics). There's no order to the madness, and no concern for the specific types of items you have. Cold? Fragile? Dry? Whatever - you'll just have to sort the mess out at home later. Let's hope that well-deserved ice cream in your cart doesn't melt...
After the annoying pile of bags is heaped back in your cart, you get the added joy of transporting this disorganized, expensive load away. You're over it - but you still carefully load your well-thought, hand-selected, inflation-priced groceries into your car trunk, crossing your fingers that the heap can survive the ride home. Did you remember to store the bread and eggs safely on top? Wait... which bag were those in again?
But you're smart, and capable. So your groceries arrive home unscathed, and it's now time for your forced workout by loading your arms to the brim with heavy bag handles to waddle inside. Sure, it's frustrating and tiring - but you fight through the discomfort and lack of circulation in your limbs, because let's face it... you're a one-trip wonder.
You lug everything inside and set the bags down. Just as you start to gain feeling back in your arms and see the beginnings of sweet relief - you realize this job STILL. ISN'T. OVER. Because now, you have to unload that heap of chaotic bags, and sacrifice the last bits of your mental energy to thoughtfully reorganize every single item into its intended location in your kitchen. Your cold items are warming with every passing second, and all you want to do is sit down and catch your breath.
There had to be an easier way. But nothing existed...
So we decided to create it!
Our personal frustration with this draining chore cycle - mixed with genuine curiosity and a desire to make life easier - inspired the creation of bitty Bohemia. What started as frustration with the stress of adulting has evolved into a fun, innovative new shopping solution that we hope you love!
